Who We Are
The Martinis, a family of silk and fabric merchants from the city of Lucca, have been present and active in Venice since the last decades of the 14th Century.
But it was precisely from the early 18th Century that Cipriano Moro Martini, operating mainly in the spice trade, acquired the property of an existing building and turned it into the family’s residence.
It has remained almost unchanged up to the present day, and it’s just where we take care of our guests every day, helping them discover the history, the culture and the beauty of our wonderful city: Venice
1. Easy to reach
A few minutes walk from the Venice Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma, Casa Martini overlooks the Rio Terà San Leonardo, in the Cannaregio district (the second largest in Venice). The entrance to the property is located in Calle Del Magazen 1314. As soon as you cross the Guglie Bridge, you will find us on the left. Our street – Calle del Magazen – is located between the “Da Nini” restaurant and the “OVS” clothing store. For those wishing to arrive by boat the closest stop is “GUGLIE” both for “Vaporetto” lines 42 or 52 (the urban boat public transport) and for the “ALILAGUNA” line, the shuttle boat service from Marco Polo airport.
2. A fascinating place to stay
Casa Martini is the perfect choice for those who love history, architecture, arts, local traditions and places where you can “feel at home”. In our rooms you’ll spend a pleasant stay immersed in a unique and typically Venetian-home atmosphere. And if you wish a taylor made stay, don’t hesitate to ask us for our best proposals and suggestions on local activities and any curiosity you have.
3. Your taylor-made stay in Venice
Visit our website and our social media channels and you’ll discover every detail and suggestion that Casa Martini can offer to personalize your stay in Venice: our services, packages. Get in touch with us and check the availability of a specific room. We will be happy to offer you special packages for a honeymoon, for a promise of wedding, for a special anniversary, for a visit to an exhibition or to suggest the best “tailor-made” stay according to your needs.
4. Experience Venice in its essence
Venice is beautiful in every district and in every secret corner. Casa Martini is located in a lively and very active area of the city where you can experience history, culture but also local life. Around here you can visit: the Jewish Ghetto, the famous Ca’ d’Oro Palace or the Giorgio Franchetti Gallery at the Ca’ d’Oro, the Church of San Leonardo dating back to 1025 and consecrated in the fourteenth century, or immerse yourself in the mood of “Fondamenta degli Ormesini” the most typical of the city (“fondamenta” is the name given to the Venitian streets that run alongside a canal).
